Uranus, The Liberator
copyright 1980 by Tracy Marks

Uranus,
you shatter and smash
my consciousness.
You fling me mercilessly
from universe to universe.

I dance on electric particles.
My veins throb
with your alternating current.
You magnetize me.

I repel
the electrostatic charge
of your embrace
and turn away from you
but my other pole attracts you back again.

Uranus,
I quiver at your touch.
You streak through me
with the frenzy of lightning.

leave me quaking
leave me    breaking
leave me    waking,
Uranus.
